The Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association awarded Auctioneer of the Year to Matthew Hurley of Hurley Auctions at this year's 68th annual conference and convention in Harrisburg. The winner is selected by his statewide peers based on leadership, high ethical standards, willingness to share with others, participation in community affairs and contributions to the PAA and the auction profession.
Hurley has grown Hurley Auctions into one of the leading companies in the auction industry. With headquarters in Greencastle and satellite services in West Virginia and Florida, Hurley Auctions continues to expand offering auction, appraisal and consulting services nationwide. He has held auctions from Pennsylvania to California.
Hurley said his commitment to his family as well as his dedication to his church have kept him grounded with the belief that honesty, integrity and hard work are the keys to success.
In addition to the Auctioneer of the Year award, Hurley Auctions was also presented with six out of the 20 first place marketing awards making it the highest award receiving participant in this year's conference. With over 300 attendees at the conference, the judges had several hundred entries to review.
Among the awards received by Hurley Auctions was first place in the following categories: Website Design, Commercial Marketing, Personal Property Marketing and Promotional Marketing.
Hurley Auctions specializes in auctions of commercial, farm, residential, sporting preserves and development real estate as well as estates and business liquidations of manufacturing and industrial companies, aircraft, medical equipment, farm machinery, antiques and collectables.
