Cash Christmas 2024!
Round 2:
Round 1 Clues Decoded!
Here are the Round 1 clue explanations:
Clue 1: eliminate all areas that allow hunting; still public land
Clue 2: Okay, this one is HARD. You are looking for a 12-letter word based on a code. F is 8, B is 4, so:
-

- The word is PENNSYLVANIA (18+7+16+16+21+27+14+24+3+16+11+3 = 176)
- The only hint here that you’re looking for the state is the word “wealth” – PA is a commonwealth.
Clue 3: This one is in 4 parts:
-
- Duos yomp (Brit slang for march), pairs stomp… Remember “the ants go marching 2 by 2” song? This clue is “Ant”
- Drum heads used to by made with animal skin, but are now usually a mylar, polyester, or a mix – This clue is “Drum”
- Settlement spot: “Town”
- Skiff or yacht: “Ship”
- Ant-Drum Town-ship: Antrim Township!
Clue 4: This one was loaded with clues:
-
- Antrim Township park is: on GRANT SHOOK Rd. (Lines 1 and 4.)
- Greencastle AYSO “Galaxy” plays at the park.
- Whisper – There is the Whispering Falls trail and frisbee disk golf course.
- And leaves of gold – hey, go look in the woods park of the park.
Clue 5: At the park you’ll find:
-
- The BANK of the Cononocheague, basketball COURT(s)
- JIG (the Cononcheague)
- BASKETS HIGH (Basketball hoops) and BASKETS LOW (frisbee golf baskets)
- southern WEAVER(s) (East Weaver Rd, which is to the south) CROSS(es) THE FLOW (the road crosses the Cononcheague)
- A FOUR LEAF CLOVER (the ball fields)
All the others are self-explanatory. 🙂
Dwight (our elf) is out and about once again! We’ll reveal clues on social media and this page and will give $1,000 to the person who finds him. We plan to offer three rounds of mischief as time allows. Please read the rules below and watch out for clues coming very soon!
Here’s how it works:
- Our little Hurley Elf is hidden, and hidden WELL, somewhere in a public location within the Cumberland Valley.
- We will release clues via social media and our website until the elf is found.
- The rule-abiding person who finds the elf will win $1,000! Hurley Real Estate & Auctions will also be asking for recommendations of those who might benefit from some extra assistance during the holidays and will be matching all winnings in gifts to those selected from public recommendations. Click here to submit your nominations.
- In order to win, you must play by the rules below, and be the first person to send us a selfie with you and the elf, and then bring the elf to us during our regular business hours (M-F, 8am-4:30pm).
Rules
- Do not trespass on private property.
- Stay safe: you will NOT need to go anywhere that could cause harm. Do not climb, dig, or otherwise hurt yourself or deface our public lands. *** Additionally: we are very aware that hunters will be out and active; we will NOT hide our elf where hunting is allowed.***
- In order to win: send us a selfie with you and the elf where/when you find him. (That way we can share online that he has been found.) Then bring the elf with you to our office at 2800 Buchanan Trl E, Greencastle, PA 17225 during our normal business hours (M-F, 8am-4:30pm).
Please Note: The winner will be required to fill out a W-9 and bring their Driver’s License for us to make a photocopy in order to receive their cash prize.
